NRICH is delighted to be contributing to Maths Week Wales 2025 (Mathŵyl Cymru), which takes place from 29 November to 7 December. Maths Week Wales is a voluntary collaboration of over 20 organisations, committed to promoting maths for all.
As part of Maths Week Wales, Charlie and Liz led two webinars for teachers wanting to raise the profile of mathematical problem solving in their schools. You can see the recordings below.
In the Primary webinar, we introduced the game Play to 37 and in the Secondary webinar, we introduced Multiple surprises. Each problem includes a link to an introductory video with Welsh closed captions.
These are the challenges that NRICH is setting during Maths Week Wales. We look forward to receiving students' solutions, and will publish a selection of them on the afternoon of Friday 5 December.
In both webinars, we referred to Nurturing successful mathematicians: the rope model, which offers an image of how we can characterise good mathematicians.
