In the first game, you basically just place all of the pieces as you roll. In the second game, the optimum strategy involves leaving as many options open as possible while filling the grid: eg: you would place a one in a row with four pieces, rather than sacrifice your last row capable of accepting a five. For the final game, the most efficient strategy is to re-roll everything other than a five, and complete a row on each roll of five.
