In the beginning we thought that the easiest row to start with would be the bottom row with 20. When we worked on it we first thought that the circle would be 5 but that didn't make sense because then the square would also be 5. So after that we changed the circle to 4 and the square would be 8. Then we calculated that the triangle would be 6, the reason why we did that is because on the second row we had already done the circles so then we presumed the triangle would be 6. And finally the hexagon would be 7. This is because we already had figured out the square on the second row so 8+8=16 and the remaining would be 14. So we divided 14 by 2 which equals 7 and that would mean the hexagon is 7. So then the answer for the first column would be 21.
