To find the number of shifts subtract the bigger number from the smaller number for an example:
4, 9, 14, 19, 24
The difference in the numbers is 5 ( 9 -4 , 14 - 9 ....)
Hence the times table is 5
To find the shift you have to get the first number of sequence to be the first number of the times table
Example
4 , 9 , 14, 19 , 24
5, 10, 15 , 20 , 25
You are shifting down by one
(5 - 4 = 1 )
