Solution for Cryptarithm number 8:
Only the digits 1 or 2 when multiplied by 4 equal a single digit number. A can be 1 or 2.
B can't be 0 or 5 (as when multiplied by 4 equals 0), 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8 or 9 (the second digit is higher than 2 when multiplied by 4). B must be 3.
C can be worked out later as it can be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 or 9 but is what the first digit of AB x 4 equals.
So far A can be 1 or 2 and B is 3 so let's check if we were to use 1 as A: 13+13+13+13=52 A must not be 1 as the second digit of the answer has to be the same as the first digit of the number we are multiplying by 4.
Therefore, A = 2 B = 3 C = 9 (23+23+23+23=92)
