First I found all of the factors of 60. I decided that I would work with 30 multiplied by 2. To make 30, I put 15 in the two boxes to the side. To make 60, I had to add another 30. Since I had 3 boxes left over I did 30 divided by 3.
This equals 10.
To sum up, the vertical boxes on the side have an area of 15cm2, and the horizontal boxes in the middle have an area of 10 cm2.
