Graph 1
• The graph has a slight negative correlation.
• The first records were from around 1895 until now.
• It seems that as there is a negative correlation, the lower the number on the y-axis the better.
• All the points are very close together which suggests it might be a short race of some sort. I used this hunch and found out that it was the 100m men race. The y-axis is seconds.

Graph 2
• There is a positive correlation.
• Records start from 1895 and stop at 1968
• I found out that the men’s long jump record was set in 1968 and it was 8.9m. This fits exactly to the graph and also suggests the graph only records world records.
• This graph is the Men’s long jump and the y-axis is meters.

Graph 3
The way the points are spaced and the numbers on the t-axis are structured suggests this is another race but a longer one. Based on this and the evidence I found on the Olympic website I think this graph is the women’s 1500m.

Graph 4
All the numbers on the y-axis are close together. There is a positive correlation which suggests this is a distance not a time. It is most likely it is a high jump. It could either be the men’s high jump or the women’s high jump, but because the men usually get better scores, I think it’s the men’s high jump. The y-axis is meters.

Graph 5
There is a positive correlation in this graph. The y-axis is a distance in meters and the sport is the men’s javelin. I know this because the data on the graph is the same as the data on the Olympic website for the men’s javelin.

Graph 6
This is very similar to the men’s high jump so it must be the women’s high jump.
Graph 7
This graph is a bit different than the others because the top number on the y-axis is 9000. This can’t be a distance or a time so it must be a form of points. Therefore it has to be the decathlon.

Graph 8
The only other two possibilities left are the women’s 10000m race, women’s 100m race and the Men’s 4 x 100 metres relay. It is much more likely that it is the 10000m race because the top time on the y-axis was around 30 minutes. Therefore it must be the women’s 10000m race.
Graph 9
In this graph all the points are close together which suggests it could be a short race and the only short race left is the women’s 100m race, so that’s what I think the answer is.
Graph 10
This one is easy as the only possibility left is the Men’s 4 x 100 metres relay.
