I thought that it was strange that the second shape had a smaller area but a larger perimeter.It was almost the same shape but with 6 squares taken out. The area of the first shape was 18cm2 and the area of the second shape was 12cm2.
The perimeter of the first shape was 16cm and the second was 20cm.
