Solving the Factors and Multiples Puzzles was both challenging and rewarding. I approached it methodically, starting with a clear understanding of the concepts. First, I checked to see what 5 headings fit all 25 numbers then put the 5 headings on one row but if all the numbers didn’t fit with the row and the column I would try the strategy again. By applying this method, I cracked the puzzle.
While working we realised that:
Odd numbers and even numbers must be on the same side because there is no odd and even number
Less than twenty and more than twenty must also be on the same side because no number is less than twenty and more than twenty
Some strategies we used were:
Getting five headings and seeing where all of the numbers fit before we use the other headings and sort the numbers in their assigned heading
Swapping certain headings or/and numbers if they fit better in the situation
