When I park my car in Mathstown, there are two car parks to choose from.
In car park A, it costs 80p to park for the first hour, and an extra 50p for each hour after that.
In car park B, it costs £1.50 to park for the first hour, and an extra 30p for each hour after that.
Which car park should I use?
Car Park A:
2 hours
80p+50p
= £1.30
Car Park B:
2 hours
150p+30p
= £1.80
Car Park A is cheaper
There is a Park and Ride service where it costs 40p per hour to park, but you also must pay 60p for the bus fare into town.
Alternatively, I could park for free at the railway station and get the train to Mathstown - a return ticket costs £3.50.
What advice would you give me if I was trying to decide whether to use one of the car parks, the Park and Ride, or the train?
Park & Ride
40p+60p
= £1
Train
£3.50
There are three options Car Park A (is cheaper compared to Car Park B), Train and the Park and Ride. The cost of those three are: £1.30, £3.50, £1. If I were to choose I would go for Car Park A because the Train is too costly and Park and Ride is cheap BUT when I leave the car and then take a bus then the bus will take a while to come and I will have to pay for the car park more because of waiting for the bus twice( to and from) and how long I stay at Mathstown. Therefore, I would choose Car Park A so that I can travel to the centre of Mathstown and visit how long I need to and pay the expenses.
I don't know if that helps you but if it does then you are a champion. Btw you are always a champion!!!!!
