First I wrote down the 3 times table till 30
3x1=3
3x2=6
3x3=9
3x4=12
3x5=15
3x6=18
3x7=21
3x8=24
3x9=27
3x10=30
I stopped after 30 because then I have 1 of each number from 1-10
the question is
1 A B C D E so E X 3 must end in a 1 and if you look at the times tables
3 X 3x7=21 so E=7 and same for the bottom
---------------------- 21 tens place as a 2 so the D on the top must add 2 and must
A B C D E 1 = be seven. It is 3x5=15 but you need to add 2 so it adds to 17
so D=5and you add 1 to C because 15 tens place is a 1. Then 3 times something must end in 4 since you add 1 so it is 3x8=24 so C=8 and you add 2 too B, and B must be something that ends in 6 so it is 3x2=6 so B=2 and A must end in two and the only one that ends in to is 3x4=12 so A must be 4. Next 1x3 is 3 add one because of 3x4=12 and 1 is 1 so the answer is
1 4 2 8 5 7
x3
4 2 8 5 7 1
