NQT Inspiration Day 2015: Nurturing Creative Problem Solvers
Date: Wednesday 1st July 2015

Time: 10.00 - 15.30

Venue: University of Cambridge, Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Cambridge CB3 0WA

Celebrate the end of your first year of teaching by joining us for a maths-filled professional development day with the NRICH team.

Join the NRICH team in Cambridge for a free professional development day designed to support NQTs in nurturing confident, resourceful and creative mathematical problem-solvers in their classrooms.

As a result of attending this full-day CPD event you will also have a better understanding of how to use rich tasks to support the aims of the new National Curriculum: fluency, reasoning and problem solving.

About the day: The day will be highly interactive with a mix of plenary speaker sessions and workshops.

We will:

  • explore what is meant by rich tasks that support creative problem solving
  • understand how to embed them in the mathematics lesson
  • become familiar with the extensive resources being made available by the NRICH team
  • discuss and debate effective practice with other teachers
