We started of by finding a good base number, or a number that was solid, so that we could work both ways, up and down, from it; We chose 9 because we thought that higher was best but then we found out that the lower numbers equalled a bigger volume. So then we changed our number to 4 which worked better. We continued to experiment until we found that 3cm was the best number we used, then we went on to do decimals. We found out that the higher the decimal, the bigger the volume. We decided to continue using 3cm because from our previous experiments that was best. We then did 3.5cm which gave us an answer of 391.5 which was the biggest volume so far. Next, we worked out what it would be if we used 3.9 and the answer was 1010.919, so then we worked out what 3.99 was; the answer was 1022.717199. Finally we used 3.9999999999 and the answer was 1024. We realised that if we continued adding on 9's it would still equal roughly the same number, 1024, so we stopped there.
