Solution to Terminating or Not:
To find if a fraction is terminating you just have to follow 2 simple steps:
1. Divide the denominator of your fraction into 100
2.If your answer is recurring, then it will not be a terminating decimal. If it divides into 100 without recurring, then it will be terminating.
Why it works?
Decimals, like percentages are all written in the base 10 numbering system as well as being written in the powers of 10. Therefore, by converting a fraction to a decimal, you are essentially putting it through that powers of 10 process.
