This problem to me was hard to explain but I came up with an answer,
if the thee candles lasted longer than a year it would be 56
because you've got to take away on because they would last for about two b-days.
If the candles lasted shorter than a year the answer would be 66 and you add 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11= 66
That's my answer, but it may be wrong. I hope that's alright
