To work out 'mystery matrix' you need to:
1.Say that 24 and 22 are in the 2 times table only so you can work out what 2 columns and one row are.
2.Only 7x7=49 so there you have your repeated number!
3. 15=3x5 and 27 isn't in the 5 times table which means that 9 must go in the end row.
4. 6 must go in the bottom column.
5. 8x4 is the only way to make 32 with the numbers we have and 4 must go in the column due to if 8 is in the column then 5 would be repeated twice as well as 7 and that can't happen.
6. This means that the last row to fill in is the 10 times table.
7. Now the times tables come in. Going across:
4x5=20, 4x2=8, 4x7=28, 4x9=36
7x8=56, 7x2=14, 7x10=70, 7x9=63
11x8=88, 11x5=55, 11x10=110, 11x7=77, 11x9=99
3x8=24, 3x2=6, 3x10=30, 3x7=21
12x8=96, 12x5=60, 12x10=120, 12x7=84, 12x9=108
6x8=48, 6x5=30, 6x2=12, 6x10=60, 6x9=54
And that's your multiplication grid filled in!!!
