Some of my Year 5s (aged 9 and 10 years) completed this challenge. Meghan, Joseph, Rocco, Mya, Adi and Lois worked as a team and helped each other. They drew the squares, cut out and then played with them until they made a rectangle. Finally they drew their solution to check it worked. They did all this unaided by me. Their dimensions, which we then checked together by discussing the combined area of the 9 squares with the area of their rectangle was 32 cm x 33 cm.
