If you do this with every gem you will find 1 diamond is worth 96 pearls, 1 sapphire is worth 16 pearls and 1 ruby is worth 24 pearls. To find how much each jeweller gained or lost we must find out how much they had. All we need to do is convert their previous gems to pearls. The ruby jeweller had 192 pearls, the sapphire jeweller had 160 pearls, the pearls jeweller had 100 pearls and the diamond jeweller had 480 pearls. Now to find their gains/losses.
