- Odd numbers: you can make any odd number with the sum of two consecutive numbers. e.g.
3= 1+2 5= 2+3 7= 3+4 etc.

-Powers of two: It is impossible to make any of the powers of two.

-Multiples of three: If you add three consecutive numbers together it will ALWAYS make a multiple of three. e.g.
1+2+3=6
2+3+4=9
3+4+5=12

-Multiples of Ten: To make a multiple of Ten you add 2 to the first number of each consecutive sum (after 10) and use five numbers.

-Multiples of seven: There is a pattern which enables you to find the sum of any multiple of seven easily. each time you add one number either side of the sum for the previous multiple of seven. e.g.
7=3+4
14=2+3+4+5
21=1+2+3+4+5+6
You could then keep going into negative numbers if you wanted.
