First I found out that there was 27 medals for Italy altogether. The sheet also told me that Italy had 2 more Bronze medals than Gold. I chose to use 10 Bronze medals and 8 Silver Medals. If you add them together it equals 18. If you take away 18 from 27 you get 9. I had then found out that Italy had 10 Bronze, 9 Silver and 8 Gold. I then went on to work out France. The information told me that France had twice as many Silver medals as Italy had Gold Medals so I doubled 8 to get a result of 16 silver medals. It said in the text that France had 18 Bronze medals and 7 Gold medals. I then knew that France had 18 Bronze medals, 16 Silver medals and 7 Bronze. I then went on to work out Japan. It said that Japan had 1 more Gold medal, but 3 fewer Silver medals, than Italy. I then knew that Italy had 9 Gold medals and 6 Silver medals. It also said that the 3 countries Bronze medals totalled 38. My 2 Bronze totals equalled 28. If you take away 28 from 38 you get 10. That meant that Japan had 10 Bronze medals, 6 Silver medals and 9 Gold medals. That is how i got to my answer.
