The class was split into groups of four with the task of working together as a group - some started by having parallel list, but the successful groups worked with a linear list.... we discussed and agreed the solution before moving on to the extension task using the skills we had learned...
"we started by placing the countries where we thought they went by reading the statments one by one (and placing the countires down one by one). We kept going over the list sorting and swapping. Then we went over and corrected any mistakes until we had it right. We used logic." (Fiona, Georgia, Molly and Tereze)
"We started off by reading the statments we used guess work and then went through them and corrected the wrong ones. We went over again until we got the final answer." (Hannah, Megan, Charlie and Katie)
"We started by using colour and using logic - every time we moved a country we could quickly check the list to find other statements about the country and check they were still right" (Sophie, Anna, Phoebe, Tasmin)
