I used trial and error for this question however I didn't randomly guess at numbers but instead I used what I knew to work it out.

To start with I did 7 divided by 2 using short division to find the answer. I did this because 6 divided 2 is 3. The answer I'm trying to get is slightly bigger then 3 so I added another unit to 6 as this will definetly increase my answer. While I did my calculation I already saw it would be wrong so I didn't carry on with the problem (the answer, so far, was 3.5) as it has 3.5 instead of 3.1.

I carried on like this with 10 divided by 3 and so on until I got to 8 divided by 25 when I found the answer.
