At first we had fun trying out different numbers and seeing if we could get to 50 in five jumps.
Max and Paul soon noticed that some numbers seemed to be impossible!
We tried to look for patterns in the numbers that did or didn't work. Toni-Rae noticed that 22 and 44 worked and thought that all numbers where the digits were the same would work. This did seem to be correct at first but then she realised that 66 didn’t work.
Grace thought that all the even numbers might work, but she soon found some even numbers that did not work.
Some children decided to write down all the 2-digit numbers you could make by rolling the dice twice. They tried out all the numbers and recorded their results on this tick list.
