I started by listing down all the combinations that make 8. I got-
8+0
7+1
6+2
5+3.
Then I tried to find a solution using those numbers for 8. These are the combinations I found. Not all of the number bonds to 8 work...
3= 1+2 3= 3+0 3=1+2
7= 4+3 7= 2+5 7=7+0
8= 8+0 8= 7+1 8=5+3
13= 7+6 13= 9+4 13=9+4
14= 9+5 14= 8+6 14=8+6
The number bonds that are can be used to make 8 are 8+0,5+3 and 7+1. 6+2 does not work because to make the numbers 3 and 7 you would need either two 3s or two 0s.
