We started by writing down all the possibilaties for each envelope; using a trial and era basis, we worked our way through the different sets of numbers, until we had used every number and had sorted each one into its rightful envelope.

The envelope adding up to three has the cards 0 and 3 inside.
The envelope adding up to seven has the cards 2 and 5 inside.
The envelope adding up to eight has the cards 1 and 7 inside.
The envelope adding up to thirteen has the cards 4 and 9 inside.
The envelope adding up to fourteen has the cards 6 and 8 inside.
