We started with the information we already knew, which was France had 18 bronze medals and 7 gold medals;each country has at least 6 medals of each type, that Italy has 27 medals in total and that the 3 countries have 38 bronze medals altogether. Then we started filling in the missing imformation. We tried 10 bronze medals for Japan and 10 for Italy and that equaled 38 Bronze medals altogether, which was the right answer! Italy has 2 less gold medals than bronze medals so it had to be 8 gold. All of Italy's medals add up to 27 so the silver had to be 9. Japan has 1 more gold medal than italy so Japan had to have 9 gold; Japan had 3 less silver than Italy so it had to be 6. France has double the amount of medals as Italy has gold so that meant France had 16 silver and then we had completed the task.
