Instead of adding three consecutive numbers, you can simply multiply the middle number by three. This gives the same answer anyway.
Here are my examples:
17+18+19 = 54 but also 18 x 3 = 54
22+23+24 = 69 but also 23 x 3 = 69
51+52+53= 156 but also 52 x 3 = 156
