First of all, we got some squared paper and drew a 14 by 14 cm square. After that, we drew a 2cm wide route starting at the corner and ending at the center. We then counted the amount of 2 squares next to each other and the answer was 98cm needed. We tried to work out a quicker way to do it and thought that if the rope was 1cm wide then it would need 196cm. However it was 2cm so we halved it and the answer was 98cm!!! We then tried it with 12cm squares and 16cm squares and we got:12-72cm and 16-128cm.To check that this was right, we did the slower method. We got the same result. Then just to make sure it worked we did it on several other number squares and it worked. So the formula is the area divided by 2!!!
