My way of working out this question is by trial and improvement. It is said that three squares + triangle= 30 which means that the squares have to be less than 10 but it also says that 2 triangles + 2 squares = 28. You put a number between 1-9 as the sqauare and it will result with the square=7 and the triangle=6. Then it says that 3 circles + a triangle = 18 so 18-6=12. 12/3 = 4. The circle = 4. Finally it says that 2 hexagons + 2 squares =30 so 30-14 = 2 hexagons. 16 = 2 hexagons so 16/2 = 8. 2 circles + a hexagon + a square = ? The answer to the question is 21.
