If you draw black and white squares on two peices of paper.Then curve them into a cylinder then slowly turn them around and around then stop and draw the exact size of the cylenders on a peice of paper. Try do it exactly (if you want!)If you want you could mesure the squares then copy them down on a peice of paper. Calculate all the cm of the squares. You will notice that in your picture in the midddle of the two cylinders the squares get smaller. When I did mine I did my squares really mega small and my answer was a smaller number. I conjecture that if you did your squares bigger the answer would be larger.
