Using algebra, it is pretty simple to work this out.
You label the bottom row 'X', 'X+1', 'X+2' and 'X+3', as the numbers are consecutive. Carry this on for the other rows.
When you reach the top, the equation will read as '8X+12'.
All you have to do is multiply the bottom left number by 8, and add twelve to find the number at the top of the pyramid.
