We worked out that with 3 buttons there are six possibilities. We found a connection when we worked out the possibilites for 4 buttons. There were six possible combinations with the same button on top. We worked systematically to find this out. This meant there were 24 possibilities in total because we multiplied this number by our 4 buttons. 4 x 6 = 24. Interestingly, when we had 5 buttons, we found that there were 24 possible combinations when the same button was in positino one. We multiplied this by 5 to make 120 in total. We predict that we would need to do 120 x 6 to find all the possibilities for 6 buttons.
