1. First, I wrote down all the numbers and used elimination.
2. 1,0 and 2 wouldn’t be in the 4 digit number since 0+1 doesn’t equal 2 nor does 2+1 equal 0.
3. 7 and 8 wouldn’t also wouldn’t be in the 4 digit number, since there’s no larger digit than 9, so 3 of the top numbers would be 4,5 and 6, with 9 being the product of 4 and 5.
4. The top digits have to be arranged in this order: 5694. If we organise the numbers in any other ways, then one or more of the numbers in the 5 digit number will repeat some of the numbers in the 4 digit number.
5. It says that the the 1st, 3rd and 5th digits of the 5 digit number has to be 3 consecutive numbers which has to be 1,0 and 2 which has to be arranged in the order 1,0 and 2, since 3X4 doesn’t equal 10 its 12 so the last digit of the 5 digit number has to be 2. For the 3rd digit, 3X6+ the 2 (leftover from the last multiplication) equals 20. For the 1st digit, 3X5 equals
15+2(again, leftover from the last multiplication.) But for the 7 and 8, we can confirm the order they should be arranged in by multiplying 5694 by 3 which gives us the order of 7 and 8 and gives us the final answer: 17082.
