With this you will notice that if you think of a number and add 5 you will get this answer for the 5th instruction. Then you are just taking away what you started with so you will always have 5 no matter what number you choose.
I choose the number 9.
I add five: 9+5=14
Instructions:
Think of a number: 9
Add 3: 9+3=12
Double: 12 x 2=24
Add 4: 24+4=28
Halve: 28 halved= 14 which is what I had before.
Take away the number you began with: 14-9=5 which is the number I added
