When we first whatched the video we didn't understand but we rewatched and rewatched until we noticed that there was 3 piles of 3 so nine cards all together and she put 18 cards down and 18 is a multiple of 9 so if you have 3 piles of 4 so 12 cards all together so you would have to put down 12 24 etc cards to get the card you need for the magic trick.
