First I worked out that 3.125 is equivalent to 1 1/8. then I thought that if I timsed it by eight I must get a whole number. I thaught that because 3 times 8 = 24 and .125 times 8 = 1 so I gave it a go on a calculator and it said that the answer was 25. that meant it was a whole number and that meantr that the two numbers thatv he couldn't remember where 25 and 8. that meant that the full calculation would be the following: 25 divided by 8 =3.125
