The number of sides is always 2 below the amount of dots. Example: if it has 36 dots AKA 6x6 the maximum amount of sides will be 34 or if it has 25 dots AKA 5x5 the maximum amount of sides will be 23.This also applies to non square numbers such as 12 or 3x4 dots would have 10 sides. We tried this with many drawings and calculations spending over 1 hour testing this theory and others.
