Firstly, the only digit that can be multiplied by 3 to make a number ending in 1 is 7x3=21, so I know that E is 7. The next digit of the answer is 7 because I had already found out that E is 7 in the last calculation. Then I carried the 2 from 7x3. If the answer for this part is 7 and the 2 will add to D to make that, then 3xD= a number ending in 5. 3 does not go into 5 without a remainder. But 3x5=15. 15 +2=17. Therefore D=5.

After that I continued this pattern and figured out the rest of the letters.
