To get the number you started with, you do the inverse.
+4, double and -7 would turn into +7, half it and -4.
Suppose you started with 9. 9+4=13. 13 doubled is 26. 26-7=19.
to do the inverse you would +7 to 19 which is 26. 26 halved is 13. 13-4=9.
you end up with the number you started with.
