We started by finding all the different ways to make 8 with the dominoes provided. We used trial and error to place the dominoes the first time. Then we discovered that we must use the double blank when the double 3 was placed. We then knew we needed to use a domino worth 2 spots or two separate 1s to complete the line. We then placed the double 1 pointing down in one corner and the 1/ 3 in the other corner to make 8. We then went to the right hand side of the square and worked out we needed two dominoes to make 6 more spots. We chose to place the 2 / 2 in the middle of the right hand and the 2 blank below it with the blank in the corner. On the bottom row we placed the 3 blank, and the 3/2 in the middle and made sure that a blank from the 1 blank was in the left hand corner. The final left side was made up of the 1/3 and the 1/ 2 and 1 blank.
This gave me 8 spots on each side.
