I solved both of these problems step by step. I started by working out what e equaled, I saw that e times 3=?1 and that 3 x 7= 21 so e=7. I used e to work out the next letter (d). You have to carry the 2 from 21 and you get 5, I worked out that you have to do 3 times 5 which is 15 so d=5. You carry the 1 from 15 and the next letter (c) must have the last digit as 4 so i did 24 divided by 3 which is 8 so c=8. You carry the 2 from 24 and i realized b times 3=so b=6. Their is nothing to carry and you have to find the last letter (a). Find out the last letter for yourself!
