The soloution I came up with for this problem is:
France: 7 Gold, 16 Silver, and 18 bronze medals.
Italy: 8 gold, 9 silver, and 10 bronze medals.
Japan: 9 Gold, 6 silver, and 10 bronze medals.
Using the information we had, I was able to use trial and error to get the answer. I started with the first piece of info we were given, Japan has 1 more gold medal, but 3 fewer silver medals, than Italy. Therefore I gave Japan 2 gold medals and Italy one gold medal, then gave Italy 4 gold medals snd Japan 1. From there on I worked using trial and error, checking through the work and changing the answers that didnt match the criteria given.
