Free professional development training, delivered over two linked days, to support teachers preparing for the new GCSE curriculum - focusing on key areas including problem-solving, reasoning and fluency.
University of Cambridge: 25 June and 9 July 2015
This free CPD training is designed to support teachers in adapting to the challenges of the transition to the new GCSE Mathematics specifications, for first teaching from 2015.
Led by the NRICH secondary team, this pair of linked CPD training days will address the content of the new GCSE curriculum and focus on key areas including problem-solving, reasoning and fluency.
The events will share how to embed rich mathematical tasks into everyday classroom practice, and focus on supporting teachers to develop and nurture confident, resourceful and enthusiastic learners of mathematics in their schools. Over the course of the two linked full-day sessions, this professional development training will:
- Develop teachers' confidence in preparing students for the new GCSE
- Explore how NRICH activities support the development of fluency, reasoning and problem solving
- Encourage teachers to discuss and adapt current resources and teaching strategies
Thanks to generous support from Cambridge University Press we are able to offer free places to teachers of mathematics at KS4 at any UK school. This free professional development training is delivered over a pair of linked days, with participants required to attend both days.
