Projects with schools

The NRICH team really enjoys working with teachers and their pupils, in schools all over the country and sometimes even abroad. We know from our own experiences, and from research, that the most effective projects are those where we work with teachers on more than one occasion. For example, we may spend a day working together and introducing rich tasks, or low threshold high ceiling tasks, or tasks to promote group work, and then ask the teachers to go back into school and try out something that they have been introduced to, in their classroom. A few weeks later we all meet again for another session where we do some more maths, and reflect on the successes and challenges of embedding these types of activities into classrooms and making them part of a whole school philosophy.

Here are some outlines of the projects we have worked on, together with the sorts of tasks we did together.
