In the past(1789-1889) the average age of death was 70.3. I worked this out by using autosum. To start with I highlighted the ages of deaths from 1789-1889 which was cell D2-D25 then I clicked autosum which gave me the the total of the age. After that I highlighted them again to count how many presidents there were(23). I then used that number to write the formula =(SUM(D2:D24)/23.

The average age of death in recent years(1897-2009) was 71.3. I used the same method to work this out but I highlighted D26-D45 and the formula this time was =(SUM(D26:D45))/15.

In conclusion we have found that between past past and present years there is only really an age difference of 1 year.
