i. If the bracket for the power equals 0 then irrelevant of what the first bracket equates to, the solution will be 1 as any number to the power of 0 is equal to 1.

To solve the power brackets I factorised them and this allowed me to find the solutions by writing equations for each factorised bracket, making it equal to 0 and re-arranging this to find x.
