If the square has 9 squares in it and is split from a corner in each square you will have 18 triangles. If you want to find a 'half' you will have to / your number by 2. So a half will be 9 triangles on each side(you could have just looked for the line which makes it a half). If you want to find 3 thirds you will have to /. If there is 18 triangles and you need to find a 'third'(which is = to 3) you will have to / 18 by 3 which = 6. So you would find 6 triangles and that would be 1 third of the square. If you want to find a '6th' of the shape you will have to /. Because there are 18 squares and you want to 1 6th, you will have / 18 by 6 which is 3. After that, you have to find 3 triangles and that will be 1 6th. Finally if you want to find 1 9th you will have to /! There are 2 9s in 18 so you will have to / 18 by nine which =2, so then you will have to find to triangles and that will be 1 9th!
