It is worthwhile observing <br />
1) how the youngsters go about it;<br />
2) how much they abandon when it goes wrong;<br />
3) what practical aids they come up with to help;<br />
4) how it works when 2 or 3 children try it together.<br />

<p>The challenge of course enters into its own right when the
questions are asked "I wonder what would happen if I....?"</p>
<p>Consideration might be:-<br />
1) Using 3 sets of 3 cups and saucers<br />
2) Using a plate as wellwith the whole problem<br />
3) What happens when we try 2 sets of 2....</p>
<p>I have used this with able years 3/4 up to degree level students
and it is always very popular; it's also good for a display should
you be wondering what to do to fill that space!</p>
