Work in progress:Integrating rich tasks into the whole
curriculum
The aim of this activity is the integrationof some rich tasks
into your curriculum planning. Although there are other
possibilities, at this stage we will look at two sources for
these tasks:
- NRICH
- your exisiting schemes of work
All the work you have done so far should feed into this
activity, which is thestarting point for a longer period of
planning and development. The long term aim is for you to think
about all your teaching and how it can be enhanced but to start
will you need to decide on something that is realistic and
achievable. You can always extend what you do now later.
You will need the following resources:
- Your existing Scheme of Work (SoW)
- Curriculum mapping documents which you can find
here
- The NRICH site more generally
What to do:
First a reminder that we are not assuming that you are going to
change everyting now, you are just making a start.
There are many different approaches to planning for the
integration of rich tasks so the first thing to decide what
will work best for you. Whatever approach you adopt, the
mapping documents will make a good starting point
