Overview
This free event will offer students the opportunity to explore what it means to work as mathematicians. The day will consist of highly interactive problem-solving workshops led by the NRICH team.
Schools are welcome to bring up to a maximum of 8 students, subject to availability of places, plus accompanying teacher(s). We would encourage the accompanying teacher to be a member of the school Maths department.
This event is open to school groups from UK state-maintained schools/academies only, and places must be pre-booked.
Aims
To introduce young mathematicians to a range of favourite NRICH tasks that will give them the opportunity to develop their problem solving, reasoning and fluency skills.
Who will benefit from attending?
Curious, enthusiastic and thoughtful Year 7 students who enjoy collaborative problem solving. The staff who accommpany their students will have the opportunity to see members of the NRICH team modelling the use of NRICH tasks and observe how their students respond.
